Local 709 Nominations for Officers & Delegates

Local 709, in accordance with Article VII of the Local 709 bylaws, will be conducting a nomination meeting for all officer and alternate delegate positions to the triennial AFM Convention and Western Conference delegate. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom on October 28, 2026 at 6 PM MDT and immediately followed by a General Membership Meeting.

NOMINATION ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to nominate or be nominated, members must be paid through the third quarter, which ends Wednesday, September 30, 2026, and must have paid any required initiation fees in full. A nominee must also have been a member of Local 709 in continuous good standing for at least 12 months preceding the Nominations meeting.

Any member in good standing, present, and at the Nominations Meeting shall be entitled to nominate any eligible candidate of their choice. The nominee shall be present at the meeting, or their nominator must present a written
statement of acceptance of the nomination at the time of nomination. Any member who meets the qualifications stated in this notice may be nominated and become a candidate for any office or delegation of this union, and thereby be entitled to have their name placed upon the ballot, as follows:

President (and 2nd Delegate/1st Alternate Delegate to conventions and conferences of the AFM)
Vice President (and 3rd Delegate/2nd Alternate Delegate)
Secretary-Treasurer (and 1st Delegate to Conventions and Conferences of the AFM) *
Executive Board of Directors – two (2) positions

All officer and director positions are for 3-year terms, with terms commencing on the day of the election, whether elected by ballot or acclimation. *S/T position currently receives a $1,200/year salary.
